Monserate Winery is truly a hidden gem with so much to offer! The wines are Italian-styled, and there are many to select from, including Sparkling, Whites, Roses, Reds and Ports. The Tasting Room has extensive counters with wooden beams above and lots of windows to the views outside.
Tristan is a stellar Wine Ambassador and escorted us through a wonderful selection of wines. He grew up in the area, so he was able to share all kinds of great history and fun stories about the creation of the Winery. He made it so enjoyable.
We tasted 1 Sparkling wine, one white and one rosé.
- Malvasia Blanca
- Fiore (means flower in Italian)
- Monte Luna
Then we tasted four reds:
- Ruscello
- Petite Sirah (my fave)
- Sagrantino
- Late Harvest
What a wonderful selection and there are more! I have a list for my next visit!
Monti’s Ristorante at Monserate Vineyards & Winery
The menu at the new Monti’s Ristorante is authentic Italian, and the pizzas are baked in a rustic stone outdoor pizza oven. Our group enjoyed sharing: Wedge Salad, Burrata, Bruschetta, Prosciutto Pizza, Pizza with Potato and Bacon, Marry Me Pasta and Shrimp Scampi with Angel hair Pasta. Delicious… every single bite!
The Members Lounge at Monserate Winery offers a Tasting Bar, clubby, comfortable seating arrangements and a fireplace. Expansive patios overlook Sycamore and Oak Trees, the growing vineyards and a creek run right through the property. There are water features, fountains, lakes and ponds. Three stunning Event Venues are perfect for private weddings and parties of various sizes. So fun to explore!
For 56 years the property enjoyed by many locals was home to the Fallbrook Golf Course. It fell on hard times and in 2016 was sold to a new Owner Jade Work. Jade is a true Visionary. He was in the Golf Course business—-designing and building golf courses he was artful at envisioning what a parcel of land could be contoured to become something new! And that is exactly what he and his Team have done. And it is truly a “family affair”. His wife Julie and three sons Joel, Josh and Jake are all hands-on.
Their Vision is three-fold:
- Commitment in all they do
- Community and enrich lives
- Conservancy and preserve the land. 70% of their 100 acres are sustainable and they use their three wells to water the vines.
They have live music on the weekends, as well as special events and wine pickup parties for club members. Check their website for details https://monseratewinery.com/.
