Valentine’s is tomorrow people. That means if you have not already done so, you best get a plan in place. Pronto! But I am here to help you thru this dilemma and do so quickly and easily… so here we go…
-Spa Gift Certificate- Can I just say this is always a winner. Easy as pie to just ring them up and put the idea in a card. Or run down to your favorite spa and pick up a gift card. Even better!
-Cocoa Lounge at The Island Hotel- This is a dreamy, creamy fantasy of the Chocolate kind. Who doesn’t want to walk through a room filled with deliciously tempting chocolates of every type. Take a plate and a fork and you are in “CL” heaven. This is a fantastically creative idea and to be honest, they should charge to just walk thru the room it smells so heavenly!
Located in the private dining room of the Palm Terrace Restaurant, this year’s Cocoa Lounge takes on a bright, modern feel with the glow of romance, according to Andy de la Cruz, assistant pastry chef. The Lounge includes specialty pastries, tarts, truffles, cakes, mousses and chocolate, many in bite sizes to allow for a broad sampling of treats. New this year are attended stations offering made-to-order crepes, homemade ice cream sandwiches, chocolate nachos and caramel popcorn drizzled with chocolate. Are you kidding me? This is just a girls dream come true!
Cocoa Lounge runs from now through February 17th, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly. Prices are: $12 per person with dinner at Palm Terrace (excluding tax and gratuity), $18 per person for the Cocoa Lounge only, or $50 per person, excluding tax and gratuity, with your choice of two drinks (wine, Champagne or port) or a flight (three 2-ounce tastings of wine, Champagne or port). In the Dining Room…From Thursday, Feb. 14, to Sunday, Feb. 17, Palm Terrace Restaurant is offering an indulgent, four-course dinner designed for you and your valentine. For $95 a person, excluding tax and gratuity. They also have Guest room and Spa Packages should you want to stay all night long.
-Roger’s Gardens In Corona Del Mar- This is my go to place for a cheerful bouquet, love trinket that looks antique, silk arrangements, and my personal favorite, their baskets brimming with fresh flowers, delicate greenery, twigs and bows. Somehow they always make everything look so special. (Tip: If you step into the Floral Area, they will place it in a box for you with a lovely bow on top!)
-Candle Essence Balboa Island- This is a very special boutique that will bend over backwards to help you find just the right scent for your special someone. The candles burn for 90 hours and I can attest to their splendid-ness. My favorite is the Lemongrass, but they pour Merlot, an ocean scent, and my guess is about 40 different smells and colors to choose from. What is more romantic than a candle? With their adorable blue and brown wrap you will be set to go in minutes and is very reasonably priced.
Hope this helps you to be creative and enjoy this fun holiday with your “someone special”.
Happy Valentine’s Day!!
